Join us for this   in-person, two-day seminar  designed for administrators and staff responsible for managing federal education grant funds. The   Federal Grants Management Seminar 2026  will provide a comprehensive overview of the   Education Department General Administrative Regulations (EDGAR)  and the   Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards (Uniform Grants Guidance or UGG), the cornerstone regulations governing U.S. Department of Education grants.

Each participant will receive a complimentary copy of   Bruman’s newly released 6th Edition of the   Administrator’s Handbook on EDGAR .

What to Expect

Expert speakers from   The Bruman Group  will guide attendees through the latest updates to EDGAR and UGG, breaking down key requirements and discussing how they apply to your federal education programs. Topics will include administrative system requirements, cost principles, and audit standards.

Participants will also gain insight into common audit focus areas, such as   time and effort reporting, procurement procedures, documentation requirements, and cost allowability,  and learn practical strategies to ensure compliance and reduce audit risk. Interactive group discussions will allow attendees to share challenges, experiences, and best practices in managing and tracking federal funds.

Lunch will be provided each day.

Day 1: UGG/EDGAR Academy — Focus on Grants Rules & Compliance

Dive deep into the core principles of EDGAR and UGG as they relate to federal grant management. Topics include:

  • Transition of   Career and Technical Education (CTE)  and   Adult Education and Family Literacy Act (AEFLA)  programs to the   U.S. Department of Labor (DOL)
  • Federal Funding Priorities and Changes

  • Competitive Grants and Terminations
  • Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act (PRWORA)  Compliance

This training is of value to all administrators of federal education grant funds. We will focus on the   Education Department General Administrative Regulations (EDGAR)  requirements, as well as the Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards (Uniform Grants Guidance, or UGG), applicable to   U.S. Department of Education (ED)  grants.

Cost and Payment FAQs:

Can I use my credit card?

Yes. Credit card payments are   encouraged. When you pay by credit card, your payment and registration are processed automatically, meaning your seat is   immediately secured.

Can I pay by check?

Yes, checks are accepted ( no personal checks).
To register by check, select   “Check”   payment at checkout.

  • Check payments must be   received at least 14 days before  the start of the seminar.

  • Your registration is   not complete  and your seat is   not guaranteed  until payment is received.

Can I use a Purchase Order (PO)?

Yes. To register with a purchase order, select   “Check”   payment at checkout.

  • Email a copy of the PO to   andrea.torrez@scccd.edu  before the training.

  • If your PO is   not received at least 14 days before  the event, your registration may be cancelled.

  • Your registration is   not complete  and your seat is   not guaranteed  until we receive your PO or payment.

Can I register more than one person at a time?

Yes. You can register   up to 10 participants  in a single transaction.

Can I obtain a copy of my receipt?

Yes. A receipt will be   automatically emailed  to you once your registration is complete.

Cancellation Policy & Refunds:

All cancellation or transfer requests must be submitted   in writing  via email to   frank.nunez@scccd.edu.
Refunds and transfers for this in-person event will be processed according to the schedule below.

Transfers:

  • Attendee substitutions  are allowed   at any time before the start of the event.   Simply email us with the replacement attendee’s name and contact information.

Cancellations:

  • 21 or more days before the event:   Full refund granted.
  • Between 20 and 7 days before the event:   Refunds will be issued   minus a 25% administrative fee  to cover processing and event costs.
  • Less than 7 days before the event:   No refund will be issued. However, event materials will be   mailed to the registered participant.
  • No-shows:   Refunds are   not available  for no-shows for any reason.

Cancellation FAQs:

  • Can someone attend in my place?
  • Yes. If you can no longer attend, you may send a   colleague or substitute  to take your place. Please email   andrea.torrez@scccd.edu  in advance with the replacement’s name and email address.
  • What if the staff member who registered has left my organization?
  • We understand that staffing changes occur.   Cancellations and transfers  will still follow the   same policies  listed above. Please contact   andrea.torrez@scccd.edu  as soon as possible to arrange a transfer if needed.
