Fresno City College enrollment exceeds the available parking on campus. This long-awaited project will address FCC’s ongoing parking needs through land acquisition, relocation of the District Office, and through the addition of parking facilities. Relocation of the District Office and staff has provided space for additional parking facilities, filling an immediate need. The District has acquired three parcels just north of the former District Office along the south side of Cambridge Avenue.

On April 9, 2019, the Board of Trustees (BOT) approved the use of the design-build procurement process for the construction of a new parking structure. The structure is to be located north of the former District Office between Cambridge Avenue and Weldon Avenue. On December 17, 2019 the Board of Trustees awarded the design-build contract to Bomel Construction Company, Inc.

On December 17, 2019 the Board of Trustees awarded the design-build contract to Bomel Construction Company, Inc. As of November 2022, the formwork, exterior, and interior finishes is complete. Bomel is finishing electrical and telecommunications work. Paving of the surface level parking lots has been completed with striping finished. Between the surface level lots and the garage, there will be 986 stalls. Landscaping is nearly done. The offsite street work on Blackstone and Cambridge is complete with the Weldon work remaining. The Weldon street work cannot be completed until PG&E undergrounds their power line along Weldon.The project is on schedule to complete in Fall 2022.
