FCC Parking Rendering by Bomel

Parking Expansion

Project Information

Project Status

Fresno City College enrollment exceeds the available parking on campus. This long-awaited project will address FCC’s ongoing parking needs through land acquisition, relocation of the District Office, and through the addition of parking facilities. Relocation of the District Office and staff has provided space for additional parking facilities, filling an immediate need. The District has acquired three parcels just north of the former District Office along the south side of Cambridge Avenue.

On April 9, 2019, the Board of Trustees (BOT) approved the use of the design-build procurement process for the construction of a new parking structure. The structure is to be located north of the former District Office between Cambridge Avenue and Weldon Avenue. On December 17, 2019 the Board of Trustees awarded the design-build contract to Bomel Construction Company, Inc.

As of November 2021, PG&E lines have been relocated and Bomel has resumed construction. Erection and form work of the first floor columns is proceeding. Offsite work on Weldon and Blackstone has been awarded and expected to complete in early 2022. The entire project is estimated to be complete in summer/fall 2022.

Currently the final structure stall count stands at 864 stalls with an additional 126 surface parking stalls immediately adjacent to the new structure. Parking Design Group has also analyzed existing surface parking lots for recommended reconfigurations in an effort to gain additional stalls throughout the campus. Future phases will result in reconfiguring existing surface lots creating approximately 722-749 additional stalls.
