Earthquakes

If indoors, stay there. Get under a desk or table or stand in a corner.
If outdoors, get into an open area away from trees, buildings, walls and power lines.
If driving, pull over to the side of the road and stop. Avoid overpasses and power lines. Stay inside until the shaking is over.
If in a multi-story building, stay away from windows and outside walls. Get under a table. Do not use elevators.
If in a crowed public place, do not rush for the doors. Move away from display shelves containing objects that could fall.
After the shock subsides, get out of doors and well away from the building.
Follow the procedures in the Guide for fire, hazardous material leaks, and serious injuries if necessary.
In the event of major damage or disruption, the District Police Department will announce and implement evacuation of the campus.
Identify and assist the injured.
Call the District Police Department, extension 5911 (559 244-5911 for 24 hour service), to report any serious hazards or injuries.
Do not return to an evacuated building until it has been cleared by structural engineers and public safety personnel.
