Student Privacy Statement

The State Center Community College District values and protects personal privacy. It collects personal information through its website and other lawful sources, and handles this data in accordance with applicable laws. 

This statement describes the data management and privacy practices of SCCCD as required by the Information Practices Act ( Privacy Statement and Notices Standard, Civil Code Section 1798 et seq.),  Government Code Sections 11015.5 and 11019.9, and other applicable laws.

  • Appointing a Privacy Coordinator to oversee privacy practices.
  • Collecting electronic data such as IP addresses and browser types for analytics and website improvement.
  • Using tools like Google Analytics and session cookies, with options for users to opt out or manage cookies.
  • Prohibiting the sale or distribution of personal data without written consent.
  • Exempting electronically collected data from public records requests.
  • Allowing individuals to request deletion of their electronic personal information.
