Center for Applied Technology

The Applied Technology programs are located in a series of six buildings originally constructed in 1960: T-100, T-200, T-300, T-400, T-500, and T-600. In 2024, the Automotive Technology and Automotive Collision Repair Technology programs were relocated from the current Applied Tech center to the New West Fresno Center, leaving spaces vacant. This project is aimed at reconstructing the buildings to effectively meet the expanded program and instructional methodology for the remaining programs.

The project is planned for a Design-Build delivery method which has commenced with hiring a bridging document architect, Gensler, to provide the design criteria documents. Several site visits and meetings with campus staff and faculty have already taken place with the Gensler team and more are planned for the spring semester. A student-focused event is also planned to engage students in the process.

Issuance of a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for Design-Build Entity (DBE) Teams will take place once the design criteria documents are further along. After the RFQ submittals are received, evaluated, and a qualified list of DBE Teams selected, a subsequent Request for Proposal (RFP) will be issued.
