State Center Community College District (SCCCD) currently includes four community colleges and two educational centers: Fresno City College, Reedley College, Clovis Community College, Madera Community College, Madera Community College at Oakhurst, and the Career and Technology Center. SCCCD serves approximately 1.7 million people across more than 5,500 square miles, including most of Fresno and Madera counties and parts of Kings and Tulare counties. The State Center Community College District Board of Trustees announces that it intends to reappoint Joseph Hebert to the State Center Community College District Personnel Commission.
State Center Community College District (SCCCD) was awarded $1.1 million from the California Labor & Workforce Development Agency to provide additional upskilling opportunities for stranded Bitwise workers and the next generation of workers in Madera and Fresno Counties.
A federal judge in Texas ruled against recent efforts by the Biden administration to protect the "Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals” (DACA) program, originally established during the Obama era. This decision from the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals deeply troubles many of us in leadership at State Center Community College District. In response, we will join our State Chancellor to intensify federal advocacy efforts to champion legal pathways for undocumented students.
