Construction Announcement

Construction Activity on McKinley Avenue: Thursday, August 16, 2018

Construction will begin on McKinley Avenue, just west of Blackstone, starting on Thursday, August 16, 2018.   This project is being done by Horizon Underground, in conjunction with BNSF Railroad and the City of Fresno, and will close off the sidewalk and bike lane on the north side of McKinley.  Pedestrian and bike traffic will be re-routed to the south side of McKinley Avenue, toward the crosswalk at Heaton Elementary, for access to the Fresno City College campus.  All traffic lanes on McKinley, both east and westbound, will remain open for vehicles to access the campus.  Construction is expected to begin around 9:00 am and should be complete by 4:00 pm on Thursday.  They do not currently anticipate the work taking longer than one day but, if additional work is required, the closures may extend into Friday.
